Spinach pie with feta cheese
Pie dough to a pie:
3 cups flour
150 g butter or margarine
2-3 tablespoons water
1 pinch salt
2 packages frozen spinach or equivalent fresh
1 red onion
3 tablespoons olive oil
about 200 grams of Feta
Casserole to one pie:
2.5 cups milk
2 pinches of salt
1 pinch white pepper
1. First, make pie crust.
2. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Cut refrigerated butter into cubes. Put everything in a bowl and work quickly together into a lump. Roll or press out into a pie dish (about 24 cm diameter). Prick the bottom with a fork.
3. Bake for 15 minutes. If you brush it with a little beaten egg in last few minutes it will protect the dough against the wet filling.
4. Heat a frying pan, chop the onion and cook the spinach in olive oil. Squeeze the garlic. Fry until the spinach is hot and let it drain in a colander. Dice the feta cheese. Spread the spinach in pie. Add the cheese over the spinach. Pour over casserole.
5. Bake spinach pie for 50 minutes.
