Put a tiger in your oven.

This cake is probably the easiest to make and most of the ingredients, you already have at home. Here in Sweden we call it tigerkaka, tiger cake, because you mix the light with the dark dough into a nice pattern, which could be tiger. I think it looks more like marble, maybe because I called it marble cake my entire childhood, who knows. But anyhow, let’s get the tiger i the oven!

Ingredients:

  • 200 g butter
  • 2 ½ dl sugar
  • 3 egg
  • 4 dl flour
  • 1 tsk baking powder
  • 1 ½ dl milk
  • 2 msk cakao
  • 1 msk vanilla sugar

Instructions:

  1. Set your oven on 175°C
  2. Blend the sugar with the butter
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time
  4. Blend the flour and the baking powder, add to the butter mixture together with the milk
  5. Mix a third of the dough with the cacao
  6. Mix two third of the dough with the vanilla sugar
  7. Put half of the light dough in the baking form, then the dark dough and on top the rest of the light dough. Pull a fork through the dough to create the marble pattern
  8. Bake the cake in the lower part of the oven for ca. 40-45 minutes
