Welcome to this years online Advent calendar!
Ines from I’monnet Photo and me decided to take on a real december photo challenge: in turns we are going to post every day until Christmas Day, so that you, when opening our blogs, open a new door in the Advent calendar. I will obviously post on the odd days (1,3,5,7 etc) and Ines on the even days (2,4,6,8 etc). Let’s start with door #1:
That is what I see every morning when I open my door. Pitch black darkness. Or as you say in Germany (or probably only in my family): It’s as dark as in a bears butt. During winter time in Sweden the sun goes up at 9am and goes down at 3pm. So when I’m off work, this is all I see of the city. But after a while you get used to it and learn to appreciate the goods things.
Like the way everything seems to glow. Lights are reflected by snow, puddles, windows or the sea. You constantly feel the need to cuddle up in a soft blanket with a big cup of tea. It’s simply the magic of winter, and with that the magic of darkness.
